A very old saying goes that no one saves us but ourselves. Recognizing and breaking free from the patterns impeding our forward progress can be transformative — just ask Bully’s Alicia Bognanno. Indeed, the third BULLY album, SUGAREGG, may not ever have come to fruition had Bognanno not navigated every kind of upheaval imaginable and completely overhauled her working process along the way. BULLY returns to Dallas, live! in person, on September 19th at Deep Ellum Art Co. Lightning Bug to support.

Bully is an American rock band formed in 2013 in Nashville. They signed to Columbia Records label Startime International and released their first album in 2015. Bully was founded by Rosemount, Minnesota native Alicia Bognanno, who earned a degree from Middle Tennessee State University in audio recording before getting an internship at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. She started recording demos of her own material before relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked as an engineer at Battle Tapes Recording and The Stone Fox venue. She joined Nashville power pop band King Arthur before starting her own band in mid-2013, recruiting drummer Stewart Copeland (not to be confused with Stewart Copeland, former drummer for The Police), guitarist Clayton Parker, and bassist Reece Lazarus.
