Chicago multi-instrumentalist and songwriter set a blistering pace in 2020 with his critically acclaimed genre-fusing LP Brat, a punk EP Black Plight, and Krazy Karl, a full-length tribute to Looney Tunes composer Carl Stalling. Add in his role as co-owner of label Sooper Records, as well as recent tours with Wilco, Sleater-Kinney, black midi, and Jeff Rosenstock and it’s an overwhelming schedule. However, his latest album, Please Have A Seat (out 10/07/22 via Secretly Canadian / Sooper Records), is the result of a much-needed pause.

Tempers, Oct. 26th, 2022 at Cheap Steaks – The New York City duo of Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper aka Tempers specialize in a sleek strain of low-lit poetic synth-pop/post-punk, the latest statement of which feels like the peak fruition of their elusive alchemy. With their self-produced “New Meaning”, Tempers present an album about navigating the unknown, coping mechanisms and exploring the natureof choice. Its ten songs reflect on the creation of meaning as an access to liberation in times oftransition and loss. Currently on Dais Records.

DRY CLEANING (UK) – The South London group of Nick Buxton (drums), Tom Dowse (guitar), Lewis Maynard (bass) and Florence Shaw (vocals) will release thier debut album New Long Leg on 2nd April.  The 10-track long-player, which includes ‘Strong Feelings’ and last year’s single ‘Scratchcard Lanyard’, was recorded over two weeks last summer at Rockfield Studios in rural Wales with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding).
