Whirr is a punk band from Modesto, CA. x NOTHING began in Philadelphia simply as ‘bedroom therapy’ for Domenic Palermo in 2010 after a turbulent decade filled with drugs, violence, and prison. With a love for tragedy in both storytelling and song he decided where he would put his effort and began to record. Over the next 12 years Palermo would enlist an ever changing cast of members and collaborators that would slowly help mold NOTHING’s signature
sound which has been described as American post-shoegaze under duress. With an orchestral like section
of perfectly layered swirling lush guitar soundscapes, driving rhythm and cinematic movements, and all uncomfortably tied together with self-loathing misanthropic tales of isolation and human behavior in the face of the world’s vast wasteland, NOTHING would be born across their four critically acclaimed full length albums, Guilty Of Everything (2014), Tired Of Tomorrow (2016), Dance On The Blacktop (2018), and The Great Dismal (2020).
Whirr is an American shoegaze band from the San Francisco Bay Area. The group formed in 2010, originally as Whirl, but had to legally change its name after a woman performing acoustic covers of Black Sabbath songs trademarked the name and threatened a lawsuit. Whirr's shoegaze sound is often compared to My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. Founding guitarist Nick Bassett also played in the band Deafheaven surrounding and including the release of their 2011 album Roads to Judah. Whirr self-released a demo cassette and the EP Distressor before signing to Tee Pee Records in 2011.
Nothing is an American rock band that formed in 2010. They self-released several EPs before signing to Relapse Records, and released their debut studio album, Guilty of Everything, in March 2014. The follow-up album, Tired of Tomorrow, was released on May 13, 2016. Their third studio album, Dance on the Blacktop, was released August 24, 2018. Nothing founder Domenic Palermo was previously a member of the hardcore punk band Horror Show.
