In early 2008, Rodrigo Amarante, Fabrizio Morretti, and Binki Shapiro came together in Los Angeles to record what would become Little Joy’s widely praised self-titled debut album, which was released in November 2008 by Rough Trade.
This June, 2/3 of the trio, Rodrigo (vocals and guitar) and Binki (vocals, keys), will set out to spread the love of Little Joy when they embark on a US tour! While concert-goers shouldn’t be surprised if co-founding member Fabrizio pops in to make an occasional cameo appearance on stage, he will for the most part be occupied with recording obligations to the Strokes, and therefore unable to tour with the band for the large majority of the dates.
Rodrigo and Binki will fill out the band with Todd Dahlhoff and Matt Borg from The Dead Trees (on bass and guitar, respectively), Matt Romano from Albert Hammond Jr’s band (drums) and Jack Dishel from Only Son (guitar, backing vocals).
